ABOUT THE COLLECTION:

From the blank of the canvas, within the parameters of the framework, I choose to see an opportunity. The canvas demands my attention and my choice is to render it. I must make it worthy of its dimensions and the space it holds. I’ll try to seduce you. I’ll try to attract your eye with my every brush stroke. I will distract you and turn you on to its sexual allure and into a visual crescendo.

As an artist, working with the female form, I’m focused on creating an atmosphere. My female characters are always anonymous and are placed into a timeless space. I try to create, capture and exaggerate a sexual tension. This is not to shock you; but to celebrate her every curve and natural form.

An obvious influence on my work can be seen in artists such as Gil Elvgren, John Kacere and Mel Ramos from the American pin up era, between 1930’s to 1970’s. However, I can avoid the use of advertising props and concentrate on depicting scenes with much more intimacy and mystery. I’ll often look back to nude renaissance art with its sophisticated angelic qualities.

Marrying all these influences together along with the surrounding present day influences and you can get a step closer into how my creative mind works.
